Common Questions

What is the mixing ratio for Calso One eco resin?

Calso One uses a 3:1 ratio by weight — 3 parts powder to 1 part water. For every 100g of water, you mix 300g of Calso One powder, giving 400g of total mix. This calculator does that maths for your specific mould size automatically.

Can I use this calculator for Calso One Brilliant White and Off White?

Yes — the mixing ratio is identical for both Calso One Off White (starting ₹499/kg) and Brilliant White (starting ₹699/kg). The colour formulation is different, but the 3:1 powder-to-water ratio is the same for both.

Is Calso One a Jesmonite alternative? Can I use a Jesmonite calculator for it?

Calso One is India's alternative to Jesmonite AC100, but do not use a Jesmonite calculator for Calso One. Jesmonite AC100 uses a 2.5:1 ratio while Calso One uses a 3:1 ratio — using the wrong ratio will affect your cure quality and surface finish. Always use this calculator for accurate Calso One measurements.

Why measure the mould with water instead of calculating volume directly?

Measuring mould volume with water is the most accurate method for irregular shapes. Silicone moulds with curves, undercuts, or organic forms are impossible to calculate geometrically. The water-fill method gives you the exact internal volume with no waste or shortfall.

What happens if I add too much water to Calso One?

Too much water weakens the final cast — the piece will be more porous, take longer to cure, and may have a chalky or crumbly surface. Always stick to the 3:1 ratio. If your mix feels too thick to pour, check your powder measurement rather than adding more water.

How much eco resin does a 1kg pack make?

A 1kg pack of Calso One produces approximately 1,333g of total mixed material (1,000g powder + 333g water). That fills moulds with a combined water volume of around 667g. For larger projects the 3kg pack gives a lower per-kg cost.
